Brighter Than Sunshine.

There are happy moments and then, there are sad ones. Sadness can be quite overwhelming sometimes. Overwhelming enough to make me happy.

Would you call me a masochist if I admitted that I enjoy sadness once in a while? It does have an endearing edge to it. Then again, there is that guy who said there’d be no happiness without any sadness. So maybe I’m not a masochist, after all. Either way, both happiness and sadness have the capacity to shine; to shine brighter than sunshine.

Shine is good. Glitter shines. Diamonds shine. I shine. You probably do, too. Don’t you think? Shining in spite of the burns is what counts in the end. C’est la vie. Or maybe that’s love.

Aqualung’s song has been on loop in my head for days because  of its sheer brilliance.

“Suddenly you’re mine, and you’re brighter than sunshine.”
